2.3 Tension-type headache

2.3.3 Management

Reassurance may suffice in the majority of patients.

Individual attacks can be treated with simple analgesics (see table 1).

Preventive treatment is rarely necessary, though can be considered if symptoms are causing significant disability (see table 2).
