New look for a trusted companion
The Oxford Care Manuals series has been available for many years now. Since 2008, those of us who have been interested in headache for a few years/decades will be well aware of the Headache: A Practical Manual, a slim but comprehensive volume giving an overview of management of headaches in all their various presentations. The available options for managing headache have changed vastly over the past five years and an update is now available to reflect the changing scenario for clinicians and patients in this area.
Announcing the new edition

Dr David Kernick made this announcement. "We are pleased to announce publication of the second edition of the Oxford University Press manual of headache in conjunction with BASH. Thank you to all members of BASH who contributed.
It has been a bit of a three-year struggle getting the book together, but it is much better than the 1st edition and an essential resource for all those involved in the management of headache.
Why not buy one for your juniors or alternatively, its pocket size makes it an ideal stocking filler if you are looking for that ideal present next Christmas? All profits will go to BASH. The first edition contributed over £1000 to our organisation."
The Manual is available from the usual good bookshops or online. https://amzn.eu/d/43OkqVO
We would like to thank all the contributors but especially Dr Kernick for the long hours of reviewing and editing to produce such a useful book.
More about the Manual
Headache continues to have a major impact on the lives of many people across the world, and the needs of many sufferers go unmet. It impacts people of all ethnicity, age, and socio-economic background, and can have potentially life-changing consequences. Headaches can be accompanied by other co-morbidities and encountered by a wide variety of medical professionals, making accurate diagnosis and management challenging.
This is the second edition of Headache: A Practical Manual, developed by the British Association for the Study of Headache (BASH), an organisation of health care professionals whose aim is to reduce the burden of headache through education and research. Practical, and easy to navigate, this comprehensive handbook offers a concise overview of the diagnosis and treatment of headache conditions.
Edited by a general practitioner and an academic neurologist, and written by experts in the field, this pocket-sized book is a concise reference for effective management for health care practitioners at all levels.
