Cranial neuralgias, especially trigeminal neuralgia, are frequently encountered in headache clinics and represent some of the most painful conditions known. These disorders require timely investigation to exclude secondary causes and knowledge of pain management strategies. This webinar will be delivered by Professor Joanna Zakrzewska, a world expert in trigeminal neuralgia and Dr Clare Daniel, a leading expert in the psychological aspects of chronic pain management.

Prof Joanna Zakrzewska
Cranial neuralgias: Professor Joanna Zakrzewska is both dentally and medically trained (London and Cambridge).
She set up the largest award-winning UK multi-disciplinary facial pain service at UCLH, London, co-founded the national Trigeminal Neuralgia Institute and is a Consultant at UCLH. She has written six books, 28 chapters, over 200 peer reviewed papers and has been rated as the top expert in trigeminal neuralgia in the world. Given over 100 invited talks in 30 countries.
Dr Clare Daniel
Psychological approaches to the management of trigeminal neuralgia: Dr Clare Daniel is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Chief Psychological Professions Officer.
Her clinical specialism lies in working with individuals who have physical health conditions, particularly persistent pain. She has worked in the INPUT Pain Management Unit, set up the Chelsea and Westminster Pain Management Programme and led psychology in the UCLH Pain Management Centre and the UCLH Facial Pain Service where she was clinical lead and developed a pain management programme for people with trigeminal neuralgia.
Clare contributed to the development of the MyPain App, an online, cliniciansupported pain management application. Following the completion of an MBA from Henley Business School, she became the CEO of MyPain. She has authored scientific papers, book chapters, and coauthored a book about the management of back pain.
